Which Talent Did God Bless You With?
We all have been blessed with a talent to remind us that we’re highly favored by God. But sometimes it’s easy to get lost in the ego that comes with talent. This is when we must remember that God intended for our talents to be tools.

“Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass.” – 1 Corinthians 13:8.
In 1 Corinthians 13:8 Paul lists the skills God gifted His disciples: prophecy, speaking, and knowledge. In doing so, Paul’s point wasn’t to boast; it was to hold his disciples accountable to do God’s work.
Too often, people use their gifts from God for selfish or capitalist gain. Paul’s message is simple.
Although God gifted each of us with skills, no skill is worth more than another. We are meant to use our skills to spread God’s divine love.
When we learn to regard our skills as tools, we see they’re meant to be used for service. Service is the most loving, sacred work we can do.
Service is how we’re drawn closer to God. Whether through teaching, counseling, leadership, or volunteering, the gifts God blessed us with are meant to create lasting impact in our communities.
Divine love is when we turn our talents into acts of service. This is how we build strong Black communities. This is how we make Black liberation possible.
