What This Black Goddess’ Principles Can Teach Us About Harmony

Ma'at is the Egyptian goddess known for giving and receiving. She embodies truth, justice, divine order, and reciprocity. The goddess keeps a light heart, symbolized by the feather atop her head. When we embrace Ma'at, we can welcome the goodness of this energy into our lives. 

It's believed that people who live in harmony with others and the earth live according to Ma'at. We can all commit to truthtelling, which helps create alignment among us, or spend time in nature and vow to protect it as best we can. 

We can also live in our Ma'at energy by freely giving and receiving. For example, do you know how to garden or nourish the earth in other ways? Commit to teaching the skill to someone younger in your family so they can pass on the knowledge. 

We can receive something, even as simple as a compliment, and bask in gratitude and abundance for receiving such goodness. Give when and where you can, financially or energetically, because spiritual law rewards us for doing so. 

This reciprocity creates a web of abundance for us all to thrive. 

Embracing the principles of Ma'at is in direct alignment with imagining and building a new world that our people have always deserved to live in. Let's commit to leaning into our Ma'at energy to create it together.
