Trouble Communicating? Start With Your Throat

There is freedom in speaking your truth. Anti-Blackness works hard to keep us voiceless, but these strategies for unblocking the throat chakra work even harder.

The throat chakra is connected to communication, creativity, self-expression, and speaking our inner truths. When there's a block or imbalance in this chakra, you may have difficulty expressing thoughts and truths or feel anxious about speaking.

The blockage can manifest physically as hoarseness, jaw pain, and neck pain. Here's how to keep your throat chakra balanced.

Incorporate Blue

The color blue is linked to the throat chakra. Wearing a necklace with blue crystals like turquoise, sapphire, or aquamarine can unblock and re-energize it. You can also incorporate more blue into your life through home decor, clothes, or something as simple as putting a blue flower in a vase.

Protect Ya Neck

Stretching your neck can help to physically open up the area surrounding your throat chakra to relieve stress and tension. The best part is these stretches can be done anywhere, from your bedroom to the boardroom.

Affirmations

Speaking aloud helps heal any blockages in the throat chakra. Try these affirmations to find balance: "I speak my truth, always," "When I express freely, I can help change our reality," "My voice is necessary for liberation."

The world we deserve to live in requires us to speak boldly about it and then take the steps to build it together. We need your voice to make liberation our reality.
