This Life Lesson Is The Ultimate Life Lesson

We are all God’s children. Eventually, we will be called home to be with him. But until that time, we are blessed to be here on Earth to learn the lessons assigned to us. How can we prepare to become good ancestors?

“Earth is the marketplace and heaven our home.” Traditional Yoruba spiritualists believed that the almighty creator sent us from “home,” which is heaven, to “market,” which is Earth.

While on Earth our purpose is to use life’s lessons to develop a complete understanding of ourselves through trial and error, cycles and changes, and death, birth, and spiritual rebirth.

We’re assigned our life lessons before we’re even born, according to this belief. Learning and healing our assigned lessons allows us to return home when we make the transition to being an ancestor.

This transition poses questions: What life lessons prepare us to become good ancestors? How can we prepare to become good elders to model the type of ancestors we want to be?

The idea of a generational curse hints that there is a residual lesson an ancestor didn’t learn in a former life that they’ve passed down to us to resolve.

Reincarnation also poses the question: Which life lessons reincarnate with us?

What lessons, patterns, or themes appear in your life? These might be tied to the spiritual lessons you’re meant to learn while at the market before returning home.

Becoming a good ancestor for future generations means committing to understand, learn, and resolve the spiritual lessons we’ve been assigned within our lifetime.
