The Key To Black Liberation Lives Within Us – And They’re Terrified

“How can we intentionally create the future for which we long and dream?” – Rev. Amanda Weatherspoon. We have the power within us to get free – which is why they’re doing everything in their power to keep us from using this one incredible tool that all of us have access to.

As children, we tap into our imaginations through play. In many ways, imagination is our first form of worship.

As we age, we’re taught to be realistic and focus on using our imagination to make money. Imagination becomes a capitalist tool – and that’s exactly what white supremacy wants.

Capitalism is a product of white supremacy, designed to keep us chained to labor. We’re applauded for creativity – as long as it’s profitable.

Capitalism is designed to exhaust us so there isn’t time to “daydream” about freedom. White supremacists are terrified by the power of Black Imagination!

Our imaginations, when used intentionally, are living prayer. By tapping into imagination we can dream up worlds centering Black liberation.

We manifest through imagining. We can ask ourselves, “How do my current thoughts, actions, words, and prayers align with the world I’m imagining? What needs to happen to make this future world my reality?”

Our imaginations are sacred – one of the only spaces white supremacy can’t access us. This scares white supremacists, so they distract us with capitalist culture.

If you do “hustle,” no judgment – everybody needs to eat. Just remember to also rest and tap into your imagination for non-capitalist purposes.

Anything is possible through imagination. “How can we intentionally create the future for which we long and dream?” Asks Rev. Amanda Weatherspoon.

How can you incorporate imagination into your spiritual practice?
