Nia Long’s Reminder About The Power Of Black Spirituality
We all deserve protection. Nia Long says this spiritual tool is her key to gracefully aging and staying divinely protected. Here's how you can use it, too.
Nia Long is loved in our community for her classic movies, warm personality, and undeniable beauty. Now in her mid-50s, many can't help but notice that she's aging gracefully, and her secret weapon is more than skin deep.
What is it?
Besides a less-is-more skincare routine, staying active with yoga and Pilates, and embracing natural ingredients in her wellness routine, Long says her intuition and listening to her ancestors are the real reason she's aging like fine wine.
When Long was a child, her grandmother instilled in her the importance of practices like therapy and mindfulness. She also leans heavily on those who came before her: "...Our ancestors always push for our greatness. And so if you just settle into that listening and receiving, you'll feel a sense of ease as you walk through this life, no matter how tough it gets."
Here's a reminder we can all use.
Even if you weren't taught to embrace wellness and personal spirituality early in life, there is always time to begin a new journey. We know stress-causing diseases harm our people, but what if we leaned on our ancestors and traditional healing methods more often?
This is a reminder that you are divinely protected, no matter how your story unfolds or what's happening to you. God, your ancestors, and your community love you. Amen and Ase.
