This Holiday Season, Black Love Is The Best Gift
“I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. This will please the Lord more than an ox.” – Psalm 69:30.
The holidays are times for us to give thanks and celebrate those we love, and we can do this without breaking the bank. How? By giving gifts Spirit has gifted us. Now is the time to tap into our creative, organizing, and service skills.
Creatives:
For visual creatives, your gift could be baking holiday cookies or organizing a holiday Paint & Sip for the family.
For performing artists, host a holiday-themed open mic event or stage a dramatic reading of holiday stories that remind us how lucky we are to be wrapped up in faith and family.
Organizers:
Whether you’re a political organizer or just love putting things on your calendar, the point is you bring the gift of organization.
Take the lead by arranging a chosen family holiday party. Not everyone has family to go home to. Use your organizing powers to give the gift of community this holiday season.
Service:
The holidays are the perfect time to give back. Collaborate with your faith community to host a holiday potluck or organize a community cleanup party with friends.
No matter the season, Black love is always the best gift. How can we spread love this year?
