The Undeniable Power Of Black Women

Proverbs 31: 25 reminds us, “Clothed in strength and dignity, with nothing to fear she smiles when she thinks about the future.” Few women have worked harder for a better future than Black women.

 The Black Panther Party for Self-Defense would not be a recognized iconic force if not for the work of its powerful women. 

Elaine Brown served the Black Panther Party as its only Chairwoman. Today, she continues her work as a prison reform, education, and juvenile justice activist.  

Widow of Huey P. Newton, Fredrika Newton worked on the Party’s Newspaper, later becoming an educator and organizer,  and establishing the Dr. Huey P. Newton Foundation. 

The wife of Eldridge Cleaver, Kathleen Clever obtained her law degree and maintained her powerful stance on human rights for Black people as a scholar and activist.

The most recognizable woman of the BPP is educator, award-winning author and activist, Angela Davis. She fought police brutality, and racism from a Marxist ideology. 

God designed us from His perfect blueprint. When we lean into who we are – regardless of what anyone else may think – he honor him and ourselves. Dear Black woman, you are loved. You are wanted. You are the future divine.
