The Powerful Lessons Eclipses Teach Us
Solar eclipses have a powerful effect on us. They fascinate us. Historically, eclipses represented a time for self-reflection and spiritual transformation.
Specifically, eclipses are a sign to release ego.
When we center our ego, we only focus on self-importance, putting ourselves in a “it’s all about me” mindset. When we release ego, we see the universe dripping with abundance and rooting for us all to succeed.
Our egos live in our minds, so releasing ego becomes a mindfulness practice.
Self-reflection is one of the most powerful ways to release our ego. This practice, among others, can help significantly decrease ego-related thoughts and behaviors. Ask yourself: What or who am I grateful for today? What can I do to express my gratitude? What or who am I feeling judgmental about today? What can I do to release this judgment?
Practicing grace, gratitude, forgiveness, and compassion for ourselves and others reduces thoughts rooted in “right vs. wrong,” “me vs. them,” or “good vs. bad.”
Releasing ego doesn’t mean we’re not honest about our own feelings or needs, just that we can hold space for the feelings and needs of others.
A liberated future is one where all of our needs can be met. This is abundance.
