Gideon’s Story Reminds Us God Is With Us In Our Toughest Battles
The angel had approached him, saying “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.”
Gideon had doubted God at first, even tested God, but here he was about to lead an army of 32,000 soldiers into battle. Or so he’d thought.
God told Gideon that the only way he could beat the massive army was if each of his soldiers had faith they would win. Gideon felt his heart rate plummet as he watched thousands of his men, who lacked faith, desert him.
With only 10,000 men remaining Gideon did his best to remain calm, cool, and collected. But God continued testing his men until only 300 soldiers remained.
Faced with the impossible, Gideon leaned into faith. God instructed Gideon’s brigade to make a ruckus.
The noise confused the enemy so much that they panicked, killing each other instead of Gideon’s men.
Anti-Blackness is the enemy that would hate to see us win. But we win every time we protest anti-Blackness.
Regardless of whether our resistance efforts are big or small, we win every time we take a stand. We win whenever we lean into faith, knowing God is with us on the front lines.
